We’re Back! And so is Baseball

Our blog is back along with the 2015 baseball season.  Two divisions have two teams fighting for first place, the Yankees, only one game behind the Rays in the AL East, though the rest of the AL divisions have the runner-up at least 3 games back from the leader. The Giants are just one game back from first in the NL West, while the Pirates are 6 games off first place in the NL Central. The Mets, despite a hot streak to start the season, are still 1.5 games off the NL East lead, now held by the Nationals. Now about halfway through the season, the Yankees, who have gotten back Alex Rodriguez and have been using him at the DH position, have a wild card spot and look to hang on going into the All-Star Break. The Yankees finished in second place, but an astonishing 12 games out of first place, and 4 games off of a wild card spot. So the question is, is Alex Rodriguez really helping the Yankees? He has been batting .281, with 14 homers and 40 RBI’s. The Yankees have definitely been improving from last years performance,so will we see the Yankees in the playoffs for the first time in three years with A-Rod on board? We’ll find out,, come play-off time.

(Pre) Super Bowl Saturday!

Before we get started, I would like to note that today is also known as Super Shopping Saturday. If you go to the store looking for a bag of chips on Monday, chances are, you won’t find one.

Let’s start off with 5 Notable Things To Take In Before This Big Sporting Event.

5. The way Marshawn Lynch, the Seattle Seahawks running back, responds to reporters. “Marshawn, Marshawn!, Are you confident that your team can win back to back Super Bowls?”

“I’m just here so I don’t get fined.”

That disappointed reporters across the country.

4. How many people will like the Seahawks if they win the Super Bowl?

3. That Bill Belichik might actually smile if his team wins the Super Bowl.

2. That Tom Brady might have a cold. Oh, wait, they’re playing in Arizona.

1. That I have predicted the Seahawks to win.

Now that we have done that, let us proceed to The Grand Prediction.

Patriots 28                                     Seahawks 38

Enjoy watching, and remember you’re out of luck when you buy chips on Monday the 2nd.

College Basketball Update

There’s only twenty-nine days until college basketball’s famed March Madness tournament is due to start. I and many others would like to congratulate Coach K on his 1000th win. Kentucky and Virginia are both still unbeaten and I hate when #1 seeds win (as you may know, take this year’s Super Bowl for instance). Kentucky looks impossible to beat, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they take home the title.

Fall recap

I have not written in such a long time! I’ve been busy with school, but I had a long Thanksgiving weekend so I can write now. Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving. Top headlines since September (which is when I last wrote…)

1) Giants win World Series: I, personally was going for the Royals, but you know how successful the Giants have been in past World Series. (Still though, go underdogs!)

2) Basketball season kicks off: Derrick Rose my favorite player gets injured again. Are you kidding me?!?!?! Can he go TWO WEEKS without getting injured??

3) Roger Federer has to withdraw from World Tour Finals: Novak Djokovic wins for a third time straight and fourth time overall. We still love you, Roger!!

4) Switzerland wins Davis Cup: Again: Team I was going for loses. France has Gael Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga How?!

I’ll be writing a 2014 recap soon

U.S Open

The U.S Open has been quite a ride lately, with plenty of upsets to see. I have spent some time at and watching the U.S Open and Serena and Djokovic both look great and have nice chances to win. Stan “The Man” Wawrinka defeated Tommy Robredo 7-5, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2. In a match that both players looked good in, and we will see who emerges victorious out of this year’s U.S Open.

New format (By the way)

If you guys haven’t noticed, you have new profiles. Rather than the patterns, you have these, goofy, kinda weird faces. The format for writing the post, that was different as well, but I liked the old version better so I switched my thing to “classic mode”. Thanks. I just wanted to post something before I leave tomorrow. I’m back on the 26th. The “Off To Camp” post was wrong. Thanks Again! I hope you’re liking this. And soon, S.O.S will enter Winter Mode. Keep leaving comments! 🙂

More on the Yankees

The Yankees are pretty good 2nd half comebackers, which is what I take from watching them in the 2nd half of the season. The 2nd [half] started out with a bang, sweeping the hot Cincinnati Reds. They scored at least a run against All-Stars, Alfredo Simon, Johnny Cueto, and Aroldis Chapman. McCann walked off to end the series, and Chase Headley walked off in his debut for the Yanks.  The Yankees won their recent series against the Rays the hard way and a 500th K for closer David Robertson is on the way. An improving Tanaka is throwing, and the Yankees are a mere 3.0 games out of the wild card race.

LeBron’s Number

I was thinking about LeBron’s choice of number and I remembered watching the interview in which LeBron said “… nobody should wear the number of the greatest player in the world…” This made me think: Did LeBron completely forget about the quote, or does he now think he is the greatest player in the world?
